Our Early Years

Learning and Development in the Early Years

Children learn in a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment where their social, physical, emotional, and cognitive development is supported. A play-based approach underpins all learning, encouraging curiosity, creativity, and hands-on exploration through sensory activities, outdoor play, and creative arts, alongside strong foundations in literacy and numeracy.Every child is recognised as unique.

Through careful observation and assessment, teachers plan personalised learning experiences that meet individual needs, track progress, and support each child’s growth, confidence, and development.Strong teacher–child interactions and positive relationships with families are highly valued. Teachers create warm, welcoming classrooms where children feel safe, valued, and respected.

Parents are encouraged to be actively involved in their child’s learning journey, as strong home school partnerships are key to children’s success.Inclusion and diversity are embedded across the programme. The uniqueness of every child is celebrated, and an environment is created that respects all cultures and backgrounds.

This is an exciting stage where toddlers start to walk, talk, and play with others. They begin to learn how to share, communicate, and express their feelings and ideas. The programme supports their development by:
> Giving children hands-on activities that help them explore their environment
>Building early language skills so they can speak in words and simple sentences
>Encouraging group play to help them learn sharing, taking turns, and cooperation

Our teachers care for each child with love and attention in a safe and friendly environment. Children are always engaged with fun and learning activities that keep them happy and active. Early reading and writing skills are also introduced through stories, songs, games, and daily conversations. This helps children build vocabulary, recognise objects, and follow simple instructions.Activities like counting, sorting, matching colours, and exploring objects help children develop thinking skills while having fun. As they grow, they also learn how to make friends and understand others around them.
